DI's investee Turtlemint

Dream Incubator Inc. (DI) has expanded our operations to India since 2015. Since then, we have actively invested in several exceptional Indian startups. Most of the Indian startups are highly skilled in new-age technologies with businesses that are pretty unique and different from our Japanese market. This Indian entrepreneur interview series taps into Indian startups’ business model and market segment characteristics, which may potentially offer some hints for Japanese venture capitalists.

In the first part of the interview, we introduce our investee, Turtlemint, an insurtech (insurance + technology) platform headquartered in Mumbai, India. Turtlemint is a rapidly growing soonicorn that has recently raised US$30 million in series D funding round in the United States. Turtlemint’s mobile app enables a smooth digital transformation for its network of over 100,000 insurance advisors to perform their sales process and serve more than 1.5mil consumers’ best interests.

The second part of the interview discusses the Covid-19 impact and some unique characteristics of the Indian market.
