On September 17, 2024, Dream Incubator SEA (DI) was proud to co-sponsor the Vietnam-Japan Hydrogen Seminar 2024, hosted by Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), JETRO Ho Chi Minh, and the Japan Hydrogen Association. At DI, we're dedicated to actualizing our mission of "Creating Businesses That Change Society" by engaging in industrial production to develop new businesses. In doing so, we have been advancing our first project utilizing the mechanism of Social Impact Bonds (SIB), a new approach for resolving social issues faced by national and local governments, which harnesses the expertise and funding of private enterprises, to achieve results through outcome-based implementation. We spoke with Masahito Ishikawa, who has been driving the first project, and Taiji Yoshida, who is currently striving to establish SIB schemes with seven municipalities nationwide in Japan, to learn about the current state and prospects of SIB.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend towards enhancing school curricula with a focus on "career education." In line with this, third-year students at Oyugakuen Joshi Junior High School have been actively immersing themselves in activities centered around the theme of "occupation."
This endeavor culminated in the realization of a workplace visit, as the school's enthusiasm to offer students an insight into "business production" converged with DI's commitment to contribute to the future of children.
Makoto Miyauchi, who took on the role of Global Head of Dream Incubator Inc.’s (DI) Third Division in April 2023, leads a diverse organization. He defines the fusion of strategic consulting and incubation as "DI-ism" and promotes "glocalization" across various target countries, primarily in Asia. He is dedicated to business production activities that transcend boundaries in various aspects. In this interview, he will discuss the current state and prospects of the Third Division.

Our Lastest Thinking on Social Impact
An interview article between 2 leaders of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and Dream Incubator (DI) where they come together to discuss in depth the history of their collaborative relationship, focused thematic areas to be addressed in future initiatives, as well as potential social impact generated through a joint effort launched from 2022.
The “Open Innovation Challenge TSUBASA 2021”, co-chaired by JICA and IDB Lab, has been successful beyond expectations “with a framework built to systematically source Japanese innovative social solutions,” said Toshitaka Takeuchi, Principal Advisor to IDB Lab’s CEO.
Social impact bonds (“SIBs”) are an innovative outcome-based financing scheme that governments across the globe use to mobilize private capital to tackle some of the most pressing social challenges. The report below aims to provide a brief overview of SIB based on our studies conducted over 2 years.
