DI and Toyota City join hands to launch elderly preventive healthcare social impact bond

Toyota City (Aichi Prefecture) and Dream Incubator (DI) join forces to launch their first social impact bond (SIB) project aimed at reducing the number of senior citizens who need nursing care. SIB is an innovative type of public-private partnership in which the government carries out social projects using private investments through performance-based contractual arrangements with private service providers. Private sector partners will provide senior citizens with more social participation opportunities through online and offline activities while still taking proper countermeasures against COVID-19. As a result, the project can contribute to better health outcomes for seniors in the long term and reduce their nursing care costs.

Toyota City and DI will continue to consider how to use this SIB model to address other social issues and create a sustainable society. DI welcomes inquiries from people/companies who are interested in this project.
